Have no idea why the BP6 should hate sound cards, but here was another guy with the same issues. Strange... :umm:
BP6, RU BIOS, XP SP3, ACPI, 2x366@523(1,95V), Pentalpha HS + 1x 12cm fan @5V, 768MB, Powercolor Geforce 3, RTL8139D NIC, Terratec EWS64L, Samsung M40 80GB (2,5''), LiteOn CDRW

Sound Blaster not recognized

I had the same problem, tried many different cards/slots). Cleared the cmos, left everything 'as is' by default, (i usually disable paralell port and a few other things i don't use), went into windows (w2kpro), enabled everything (i don't use the udma 66), stuck the card back in, booted up and it found the card. went back into cmos, disabled my 'regular' things, rebooted, went into w2k, disabled the udma 66, rebooted. no problems.
Please *do* meddle in the affairs of
nyghtshayde, cuz, like, you look crunchy and smell like ketchup.
