At home, how are you connected to the internet?

stuck with dial up 56k, no cable or dsl available in my area

a month which is glorified isdn connection! What a rip!!!

Ill use my 56k @ home, and use the T1 @ werk for now.

yeah, on a very good day, with no clouds, no rain, no humidity, with a perfect install, with new usb or ethernet cables, praying that there are no solar flares, or solar winds messing with the signal, and that no plains or foriegn objects get in the path between the sat and your antenna, and that your internally cabling is within the proper distance, and in spec..
sorry, I worked for starband and directpc support..

Running on an ADSL connection at home here - shared with my housemate over the LAN which keeps the cost down. 512 down, 256 up. Works really well. Could never go back to a 56k modem now, no way.

Alltel ADSL 1536/768 kbps

Speed is usually around 1300/660 kbps. Downloads are usually 162KB/s.

Won't tell you what it costs per month but its cheap (I work for Alltel)!

My Alltel ISP service is free.

Roadrunner also, 2.5 mbit down, 384 Kbit up is advertised, I've seen as high as 800 KB/sec in bursts when hitting 6 news-servers at once, and sustained of 300-440 KB.

Hope everyone has tried Broadband Wizard or something similiar, just let it adjust RWIN,MTU, etc...don't need to keep, just keep the settings...

I am in Hertfordshire UK, using Pipex ADSL for my LAN, 512k/256k, unlimited upload/download at the moment and cheaper than most UK adsl solutions. Very happy indeed with it, good value for money.
