I own a 486 as my main computer

well, good to be back. Well seeing as how im broke, i dug up one of my OLD 486 laptops... DX2 8mb Ram. hooked it up to a PCMCIA network card and now im on the net.

This is what happens when you overclock with stock cooling. So dont be a dumbass like me.

We’re still running a P 166, so I chose the P1 266 as it’s the closest to it.

The machine is running linux and is our firewall.

I selected BP6 366-500, seeing as how one of my BP6's is on loan to my Dad until he ever decides to dig out the wallet and buy one, the bum anywase....
And the other is being used by my cheap ass brother, who cant seem to find the dough to buy one for himself, but seem's to have enough money to buy all kinds of crap for his dumb ass Harley, what a pile of s**t........

well, then. Old computers... what fun. every try taking an old computer and putting a new program on it?? like a 166 and running D2?heh its sorta of an addiction for me. But if givin the choice, a Bp6 all the way.

About the poll. No "other" was put on the poll.The reason for this being that you would choose the closest CPU speed. by choosing other, your not shown on the overall scope of things, well thats all.

Just remembered, I have a P75/100 depending if I overclock it, which I used to test linux stuff on, and is now a spare firewall if the main one is ever taken down maintenance.

At work the laptop I use is a P2 333 running windows NT4

I still have a P3 450 that I bring into use now and then, but I have just acquired a P3 700. Which I got off a mate who was going to throw it away!!!

The conversation went along the lines of:
Him: "I still need to format my old pc and dispose of it."
Me: "Dispose of it?"
Him: "Yeah throw it away."
Me: "F**koff you cant do that! I'm still using computers slower than it, in fact I'll have it!"

Oh and I still use my bp6 every day as a linux desktop machine. Which basically acts as a dual monitor set-up for my main machine.
Using a piece of software and the network I can use the same mouse and keyboard that I use for my main machine to control the BP6. Just go off the edge of one screen and the mouse appears on the other, the keyboard just follows where the mouse is. Works between windows and linux, so you can have the best of both worlds on one desktop. You can copy and paste text, but not files.

i OCd my k6-2/500 to 600 but had to use pc-133.(that EDO stuff is only good to about 66MHz)
my k6-3/400 doesn't oc well at all but outpreforms the k-2 because of the ondie full speed cache.

thats the plan,
if you send them first i can keep my bp6 in dual mode when i pull the 500s.
i also want that 350slot i if its ok. you would be trading it(350) for stuff for the seti rack so it would be used for what it was donated to you for in a round about way.

i've got a 75Mhz compaq laptop with 16Mb of ram and no cdrom

put in a 4.7Gb hard drive with the win98 cd on a seperate partition. and also a 10mb pcmcia card for lan. thats even got sound and a dead battery.

it sucks

both my laptops dont have battery either. but i WILL get one. then I shall take over the WORLD!!

erm. I only have a 4gig Hard Drive. (iwish i had a 10. Full install of Baldurs Gate! Perfect.) Also this laptop is capable of Windows XP. Joy.
