in system info of my 3dmark01 it reads that my chips are at 574mhz??
how can this be if in bios i have them at 550mhz
Also its saying my directX is 8.0 when i beleive i installed 9 ,so i went to directx and installed it but it still says directx 8.0?
could this be that 3dbenchmark2001 is incorrect?
where else can i go on my cpu to check this data?
thanks!

This may be due to how program calculates the CPU speed. If the actual FSB is rounded up or down from its true values, then the final CPU speed will vary.
My FSB is 68.02 Mhz in WCPUID. This is a TurboMode speed. WCPUID says speed of the CPU is 544.15 Mhz. Let's see, 68.02 x 8.0 = 544.16 Mhz. 8.0 being the multiplier. Hmm... Must be due to how the program rounds the FSB value because the multiplier is a fixed value. So, other programs could report different values. It all depends on how the programmer setup the calculations in the code.

What do you mean by turbo speed?
i checked my speed on fsb and WCPUID 574.11mhz 8.2x7..

If you are not overclocking your CPU(s), there is a Turbo Mode feature just below the CPU Operating Speed in the !! CPU Soft Menu II !! section from the BIOS. It is actually called Turbo Frequency. This mode increases the external clock by approximately 2.5%.
I'll send you the drivers when I get home, tonight.

ok i think im following you. Im aware of the turbo freq. So which is better?
I mean what would be the reason not ot o/c but to use the turbo freq.?

I was messing around today and put my celerons on turbo mode.At 466
I opened WCPUID and the multiplier is on 7 unlike urs which is 8. why is that?

After using the BP6 FSB to o/c.. I still wasnt satisfied. I want to make sure its really working. So i opened wcpuid to get the processor speeds and nothing has changed. The speeds read the same before and after I o/c. Can anyone explain why?
