cannot run XP application in 2000 Pro?
I'm looking to buy a certain piece of software for my wife (Polaroid scrapbook suite) but it says "Windows XP and above.". I called their "tech support" hot-line and asked if it would run under 2000 Pro and was told no but they couldn't tell me why. I know, just switch, right? I remember there used ...

dual monitors, dual pc's, cheapest way?
I have 2 pc's that are dual monitor capable and 2, 20" VGA displays, would like to control both from one keyboard and one mouse but don't want to spend a lot.
Cheapest dual monitor, dual pc kvm switch I can find is $100.00 USD!
Ideas please?

Freespire?Lindows and Dynebolic, WTF?
Ok, I'm just trying to get your attention, I normally don't "swear" ;) . I have been looking for two things; One, a way to extend the usefulness of older equipment and a way to "stick-it to MicroSoft" and I think I have found it, at least in part. For those of use that cannot afford "up-grades" and ...

Just an update, I haven't had a lot of time to "play" with FreeSpire yet, however, I did reload it again (just running it from the CD-ROM at this time) and with a little nosing around I found out that it did identify ALL PCI cards in my new box correctly! 1. PNY GeForce FX5500 128meg, dual head vid ...

HMMMMMMM, Sounds interesting! I just may have to revive one of my BP6's, NEO370's and my PIII 1100E's! (BIOS was always a problem with stability) I need a spare box just for video capture, no editing and this would be just the ticket. Lemme see now; Dual PIII's @ 1100MHZ 768 meg PC133 Sound Blaster ...

selling "video editing system"
I just up-graded to a Pentium D820 over-clocked to 3.4GHz, 2gig of PC3200 and a 256meg dual head vid card with a Turtle Beach 7.1 surround card. My old system has been stable as a rock for 4 years but now I am involved with film conversions and the rendering times went through the roof. So, my loss ...

BP6 "Garage Sale"
I have 2 modified and fully funtional BP6's, a whole bunch of funtional and lapped Celeron's (4 366's that go 550 or better on these boards, 2 400's, 2 433's, 2 466's and 2 500's, when I last checked all AOK), 2 GlobalWIN FEP-32's, 2 Spire Whisper coolers, 4 to 6 80mm Delta fans and maybe 4 "mini-pe...

If you want the best coolers on the market get Whisper's, see my photo gallary on this website. P.S. they also look slick as s--t ! :), and, if you what the ultimate add 80mm Delta's but look out, 747 commin through the room! I posted my lowest aircooling temps with these, even better than the Globa...

Need new mobo, which way to go?
Yes I still have at least one BP6 running, can't seem to part with it, ...sigh. (dual 366's @ 605, 768 PC133, has not missed a beat in years! Retired the dual PIII 1100's, getting to hard to find) Humph! I need some advice, I want to upgrade one box but don't want (can't afford) to replace everythin...

Various cpu coolers
If you want to see the "ultimate" in BP6 cpu coolers goto my pictures (jaybird)! First in line, Spire Whisper's with 80mm Delta fans and they fit with no mods! (be ready for a 747 taking off in your tower!) Next, Spire Whisper's with stock fans (Nice & quiet!) @ 550 solid. A generic Golden Orb knock...

Weird HPT366 problem
I desided to (one more time!) revive one of my BP6's. With 2 366's @ 66mhz, a vid card installed, 1 stick PC133 SDRAM (256meg), one hard drive and 2 daisy chained optical drives on (IDE-1 & IDE-2) plus a 3COM ISA NIC I installed WIN98SE and WIN2K Pro, dual-boot. All went well until I tried to instal...

thoughts an suggestions
Sad to say, 466's don't really over-clock the best. Try to find a couple of 366's, almost a given, 550 @ 100mhz fsb. I am presently running 366's @ 581 Mhz stable in win2k pro on the internet, 594 when off line and will boot into windows @ 605 (110 fsb). I have matched and lapped sets of: 366's, 400...
